Chasing the Life

I have no need for money,

And nary a dime gives me true reason

To toil and suffer for days upon days,

Missing the good parts of every season.

“But food and shelter still must be had”,

The masses shout from their cluttered desks,

Where they suffer with no joy in their hearts,

And their lives not at all picturesque.

I need not the fancy things like cars and the rest:

The clothes and the house and the pool;

For with all of that comes the shell of a life,

Lived by a lonely old fool.
